Half-Tracks

Finished painting some half-tracks.  They're Old Glory (I think).  I can't bring myself to spend a lot of money for transports (granted, these have machine guns on them, but still).

Here's a comparison with a Quality Casting Kfz. 7.

Doesn't even look like they're in the same scale.  Luckily I don't worry about stuff like that.

Old Glory halftracks have always left a bit to be desired in my opinion. They are on the smallish side which is odd given that their tanks are on the largish side. This is all compared to the Quality Castings line which manages to keep closer to scale on their models.

Vehicles look good. Do they fight?

And as for transports on the battlefield, most players use them as front line assault weapons rather than as support. It is usually better to leave them off the table for most wargames.

Yeah, they fight. Or they will. Gabriel seems somewhat interested in playing some WW2 minis, so I'll probably run through my scenario with him and then run a game in Glen Burnie for you guys. Basically British/Canadians in Italy.

And yeah, when I wrote that about transports I thought about your "assault half-tracks" comments. But they do have machine guns.
